STUFF THE BUS by the Greater Lewisville Association of Realtors
As we send off our kids to school and take them to class for their first day of school I thought it would be a good time to share a campaign I was recently a part of. I am a member of the Greater Association of REALTORs and also a member of the Community Services Committee. We recently had a campaign to raise backpacks and all the school supplies needed for as many students as possible.
I am glad to say that as an association our campaign was able to successfully raise more than 250 backpacks filled with all the school supplies a child would need in each bag. Our members were able to raise money, take time to shop for bags and school supplies and present them to Communities In School which works with the Lewisville ISD. The backpacks and school supplies would go to help children in need who would have one less thing to worry about in school. If we all remember our school days we worried about many things, are kids going to like me, will I make friends, do I have school supplies, and so on. If we can help those kids in need have one less thing to worry about and help their parents as well then it makes for better prepared kids and helps our community in general.
I am very proud of our effort and just makes me feel great when I dropped off my daughter at school this morning knowing we helped 250 kids have a better first day of school.
